Almost 8 years five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor are waiting with hope justice from the Libyan court. For almost 8 years they have went through a trial resulting in convictions and death sentences, an appeal overturning the convictions, and the latest trial which ended on December 19, 2006 again convicted the defendants to death by firing squad.
The team of Hermes Phone is sympathetic to the Bulgarian medics in Libya and restless against the unjust verdicts. Let us show them that they are not alone and that we cannot resign our deep discontent with the intolerable cruelty and injustice that lasts for 8 years.
Call for Protest for the Bulgarian Medics in Libya 28 December, 2006
The ‘Bulgarians Abroad’ Committee of the Bulgarian community in the United Kingdom is calling for protest against the guilty verdicts and death sentences for the Bulgarian medics in Libya.
The peaceful protest will take place on 1st January 2007 at 13:30 in front of the Bulgarian Embassy in London, after the official ceremony on Bulgaria’s accession to the European Union, and will continue with a protest march to the Embassy of Libya.
Demonstrating the deep discontent with the ongoing injustice in Libya, this peaceful call for protest is supported by the Bulgarian Association of Health Practitioners in the UK, the Bulgarian Embassy in London, Bulgarian media in the UK and the local authorities.
